Traditional hand cut profile portraits done without the use of lights, machines or drawing. Third generation silhouette artist Pam Benton Hines comes from a distinguished family of professional silhouette cutters.  Pam's mother Judith P.Housel, grandmother Katherine M. Housel and all of her aunts either have or are currently cutting silhouettes professionally. Each silhouette is freehand cut. Meaning she does not use any  means of making the silhouette other than just looking at the profile of the subject and cutting the paper. No drawing ,no sketching, no patterns or machines. This is the traditional method in its purest form. Each silhouette takes only a five minute sitting so even wiggly babies or embarrassed teens (and husbands) don't have to sit very long. Every silhouette takes on the character and personality of its model. Each silhouette is as individual as the person it represents.
